Including your grandparents in your wedding ceremony

Grandparents can be often be overlooked at weddings. If you are still lucky enough to have your grandparents, consider giving them a special role in your big day.

Your Grandmother might be one of the most important women in your life so honor her by asking her to precede you (the bride) down the aisle by laying a carpet of flowers at your feet like a flower girl would do.

It's also important to include the groom's grandparents as a special part of the ceremony. If they play an instrument or sing, you might ask them to perform a portion of the ceremony music, or if music is not their thing ask them to do a reading.

Including traditional clothing is also a nice way to honor those special ones in your life.

If your grandparents or other loved ones are no longer present, you can include photos to remember them.
